All About BOAM

Bet On A Mjracle is a nonprofit that that was started by me and my mother Tameek Allen to create opportunities for talented young athletes from low income households. The goal of BOAM is to break down the barrier in youth sports. Kids shouldn’t have to worry about the cost of gear, camps, travel and etc that can often give wealthier kids an advantage in rankings and college recruitment which becomes vital the older you become. BOAM also seeks to focus on providing mentorship, skill building, and hands on support for young athletes.

All About MJ

Hey I’m Mjracle Sheppard(MJ) I’m currently a college athlete playing basketball at Cal Berkeley. I’ve been playing basketball I was 2 but also loved soccer, flag football, volleyball, and track! I always played on more than one basketball team and started traveling in 4th grade for games when my sisters coached me and I always played up.

My freshman year at Eastside Catholic we were the district champions and made it to state. After my freshman year I moved to Florida and began attending Montverde Academy as a boarding student, there I helped lead the team in back to back Geico High school National Championship wins in 2022 and 2023.

After High School I decided to take my talents to Starkville and played at Mississippi State before I transferred to LSU which was really challenging for me since I had to sit out for a few games during pre-season but ultimately we made it to the sweet sixteen in Spokane, WA which was nice because then my family was close enough to come watch.

Now I’m settling into my new home at Cal Berkely with a great coaching staff and a whole new team. I’m really excited for what the future holds and can’t wait to help make the dreams of other young athletes come true the same way my community and my village made my dreams my reality!
